Did Covid19 force you to stay at home? How about enjoying this time alone making a spa at home, you will not regret it and, above all, it will look much prettier, and you may end up developing a new habit of self-care.
Pay attention, because basically everything you're going to use is in the kitchen cupboard and best of all, because you don't have to leave the house!
1. Rice water
Besides being very easy to do, it's a very old trick, the geisha I used to use it very often to keep the skin young and beautiful as it serves to soften, moisturize and brighten the skin.
All you need to do is put half a cup of rice in water for 15 minutes, then strain; the water obtained from this process will go into the fridge for 15 minutes, so you can apply it to your body and let it act for 15 to 20 minutes before showering.
2. Apply cold towels
With this, you will be able to tone the skin, as it will give it more firmness and help to eliminate excess oil. You must wet a towel with water and put it in the freezer for 10 minutes; then place it on clean face for 5 minutes. Try to make it as cold as possible.
3. Practice Otefuki
The ritual Otefuki comes from Japanese culture and is also about skin care. What you should do is wet a towel with hot water mixed with rosemary or lavender oil; The temperature of the fabric will help to open the pores of the skin, so that the oil enters and hydrates the skin. Let it act for about 15 minutes.
4. Brush your skin
You've probably never done this before, but brushing your skin is one of the best ways to initiate complete relaxation as it stimulates circulation and removes dead skin cells. Remember to do this with a soft bristle brush and without exerting too much pressure, or your skin could be injured.
5. Exfoliate your body
This can be a simpler idea if you don't have a bath brush to scrub your skin, as your body and skin need care; the exfoliation results are the same as in the previous point.
You can create your own scrub with coffee or brown or white sugar, honey, lemon and body oil; mix everything very well and rub it circularly all over your body and after showering you will see that your skin will have a shine very natural and beautiful.
6. Apply a face mask
The best thing that can happen to your skin is that you apply a mask and what's the best option if it's not a natural product you have in your house!
Avocado for example is super known for its moisturizing power, you can mash half an avocado with about 3 tablespoons of natural yogurt and apply for 15 minutes on clean skin.
7. Get a facial massage
This is an option that will make you sleep like a queen and that the skin on your face will really thank you. You should do it with a little almond or coconut oil, or with your favorite face cream.
Always move upwards without squeezing the skin and avoiding the area below the eyes that is most sensitive. This activates circulation and you will activate even more the benefits of the cream or oil you are applying.
8. Pamper your eyes
If you think that, despite sleeping better than before, the dark circles do not disappear or you just feel tired, a good option is to make green tea and, when it is hot, soak two cotton pads, lie down and put them on. in the eyes for 15 minutes at 5-minute intervals so you can wet the discs again. You will see that your eyes will feel better and dark circles will be reduced if you are consistent.
9. Make your own manicure and pedicure yourself!
We're probably not experts in manicures or pedicures, but the intent of a home spa is to do it ourselves; so try doing something simple by cutting your nails and painting them a light or shimmery color that's easier to clean; I guarantee that little details like these lift your spirits and make you feel beautiful!
10. Take care of your hair
Now is the time that we no longer have to give the excuse of lack of time for hair! You can take coconut oil or your favorite cream and apply it to your hair in the morning and curl it (unless you have a video call that day huh lol) and go do your thing letting the cream work well before washing.
And how about giving your hair a break from the dryers and flat irons, your hair will thank you.
11. Eat healthy foods
Now that you have the time, enjoy it and give yourself all the love you can, and what better way to do it than to eat well, because although you often don't believe it, everything we eat ends up being noticed on the outside, on our skin or physically. Try all the recipes you come printing and never have time to make, if you play!
12. Meditate and relax
Finally, the option that will help you relax internally and externally is meditation; spend 10 minutes to an hour. You will find that you will feel better and you won't need much, just a quiet place and you can find hundreds of guided meditations on Spotify or YouTube.
